Animals are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists. The tables on this subject highlight the beauty, complexity and fragility of animal biodiversity. However, they can also be used to raise public awareness of the need to preserve it.
Many animal species are indeed threatened by human activity. Deforestation, illegal hunting, pollution and climate change are all factors that contribute to the disappearance of certain species. One of these paintings, Elephant 01, was inspired by a fascinating encounter my sister Agathe had in Africa with elephants. She was able to closely observe their behavior, their intelligence and their tenderness towards their little one, and she was deeply touched by these fascinating beings. This painting was naturally dedicated to him.
