These FUNNY FACES in memory of the BROKEN GULLS of the First World War.
In memory of those soldiers who returned from the front with injuries, with serious and irremediable sequels.
In memory of those people who have learned to live despite this and certainly also in joy and lightness. Simply happy to live.
Hence this name of FUNNY FACES.
Like nothing is insurmountable.

The "broken jaws" of the First World War are soldiers who were seriously injured in the face and head during the conflict. Many of them suffered severe facial mutilation, such as shrapnel wounds or burns.
These injuries had lasting consequences on the soldiers' lives, affecting their ability to speak, eat and breathe normally. Many also suffered from mental disorders and impaired vision.
Despite their suffering and handicap, the "broken faces" were considered heroes and were hailed for their bravery and determination. Many have been honored by their country for their service and sacrifice.
Today, the "broken jaws" of World War I are a poignant reminder of the cruelty of war and the impact it had on millions of people around the world. They are a reminder of the importance of peace and the need to work together to avoid such tragedies in the future.
